Once registered, youll be issued with an Equine Establishment Number (EEN) sometimes also referred to as an Animal Group Number (AGN). This number simply identifies the location where your equine is kept.From 1 February 2026, youll need to provide this EEN whenever you apply for a new horse passport or update an existing one. Without it, applications wont be able to proceed, so its a good idea to get registered well in advance.Registering your establishment involves completing a short form and submitting it to a DAERA Direct Office. This can be done by email, by post, or in person.
